On Jan. 28th, CEO’s monthly member meeting was all about franchise entrepreneurship and starting the semester off strong! Dr. Ben Lawrence, Professor of Franchise Entrepreneurship at Georgia State came prepared with a presentation on the scalability, economic benefits, and future of franchising. He also explored why so many franchises are successful and others are not.
Franchising has been around for a long time but has only recently been used to take traditional business models and flip them into franchises. Dr. Lawrence educated the group on successful franchises like Subway, The Joint, Chick-Fil-A, and many more, to help them understand the multiple ways of structuring and running a franchise. Dr. Lawrence also went into the differences between being a franchisor and franchisee, and the benefits of each route. Overall, Dr. Lawrence was a fantastic speaker for our first CEO event this spring semester, and our members can’t wait to learn from the lineup of upcoming guest entrepreneurs and experts.
