ATLANTA –March 21, 2019– Some 19 teams from Georgia universities and colleges are preparing their best business pitches for a two-day competition as our Georgia State University’s team nSpireMe is poised and ready to take on the challenge. The competition is the Georgia InVenture Prize initiative hosted by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and highlights the state’s innovation ecosystem of high potential, ambitious and growth-oriented student entrepreneurs. Not only will they present their business ideas before a panel of judges but this event will also be televised on Georgia Public Broadcasting on April 4.
Georgia State will be represented by two outstanding student entrepreneurs, James Okolo and Timothy Sok presenting their unique solution to judges in the statewide competition. The two were chosen by GSU’s Entrepreneurship Programs faculty and staff for this coveted role. Their unique business solution nSpireME, is a social network/mobile app-platform that immerses users in a social environment that promotes a sense of inspiration, self-discipline, and motivation while providing incentives for users to achieve their goals. nSpireMe co-founder, Sok, explains further, “We give our users the freedom to set and track any goal through Goal Groups. Goal Groups are made up of other users who hold each other accountable by setting and tracking the same goal together.”
Mark Curry, American actor, comedian and host, will be hosting the Georgia InVenture Prize. The competition judges include Lonnie Johnson – invented Super Soaker, Tiffany Krumins – founded MomGenius and Janelle Fitzpatrick – founded Better Options Company.
The competition will broadcast live from the studios of Georgia Public Broadcasting, and you can tune in here. To learn more about the Georgia InVenture Prize Initiative click here.
