On Monday, March 8th – the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) held the Womenpreneurs Worldwide webinar to celebrate and acknowledge women-led companies. The event also fell on International Women’s Day, further emphasized the importance of this 24-hour salute to women entrepreneurs and businessowners everywhere.
Elissa Russell (M.Ed. ‘20) and Jiana Zapata (B.B.A. ‘21) took home the 1st place award for their outstanding accomplishments with the company, Readi Consulting, LLC. Readi Consulting upskills and reskills the undereducated, underemployed and low-literate workers by providing contextualized training to improve their reading, numeracy, digital or writing abilities. Their workforce enterprise aligns with the United Nations sustainable development goals selection criteria.
Russell served as a Graduate Research Assistant at ENI for Dr. Isabelle Monlouis during the 2019-2020 academic year.
Zapata is a WomenLead in Entrepreneurship and Innovation alumna.
