ATLANTA — Georgia State’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute (ENI) has launched applications for its 3rd annual Main Street Entrepreneurs Seed Fund. The business accelerator program recently received the Excellence in Student Engagement in Entrepreneurship Award at the 10th annual Deshpande Symposium for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education — the third award within the past two years. Main Street is designed to support underrepresented student, recent alumni and Georgia State community entrepreneurs to start and grow new ventures.
Earlier this year, after receiving nearly 130 applications, the Main Street program welcomed 13 companies into Cohort 2. The six-month business accelerator program aims to foster inclusive entrepreneurship and eliminate achievement gaps for all entrepreneurs by providing seed funding, targeted workshops, networking opportunities and intensive coaching by Entrepreneurs in Residence to further Georgia State entrepreneurs. Each cohort culminates with the signature Demo Day event, consisting of a business showcase, live radio broadcast, pitch competition and networking reception. To date, the Main Street program has awarded more than $360,000 to companies led by underrepresented founders.
Interested entrepreneurs can review Resources to Strengthen their Application and submit an application to Cohort 3. Applications are open now through January 31, 2022.
