Monique Mills is a degreed electrical engineer turned serial entrepreneur, holding an electrical engineering degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology. Her diverse career spans semiconductors and PCBs, power generation, aviation, construction, real estate, water infrastructure, and software development. As a former tech startup founder with expertise in business innovation, she is now the Founder and CEO of TPM Focus, a strategy consulting firm that provides revenue-driven strategy and execution services to startups and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), aligning their technology, marketing, sales, and customer success with their financial goals. Her strategic leadership has empowered over 1000 clients to innovate, increase revenue, and streamline operations.
Monique is also President of Focused Innovation Group, her family-owned acquisition firm that targets established small businesses with retiring owners, aiming to drive innovation, digital transformation, and operational efficiency to boost profitability. She is the host of the trademarked podcast Unpolished MBA®, which offers candid conversations about entrepreneurship, business strategy, and the realities of running a business, drawing from both her experience and the stories of fellow entrepreneurs and industry experts. In addition, she will soon add “published author” to her list of accomplishments, as she is currently completing her first book collaboration with fellow women in STEM, set to be released in March 2025.
She served on the Board of AWIS (Association of Women In Science) STEM to Market, NSF-funded research teams focused on the entrepreneurial experiences of underrepresented women of color in STEM, and is a trusted mentor, advisor, and strategic partner to several entrepreneurial and innovation organizations and economic development agencies. She is an advocate for the diversification of STEM careers, expanded leadership, and equitable entrepreneurial opportunities for women and underrepresented minorities.
