The Atlanta Chapter of the Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) held their annual competition for the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA). This year, GSEA was once again formatted as a Livestream pitch competition where six finalists from universities across the country competed for a chance to win cash prizes and move onto the Global Finals later this year. The associate director of the H.J. Russell Center for Entrepreneurship, Dr. Isabelle Monlouis participated in Hillsborough Community College’s 9th Annual Veterans Entrepreneurship Training Symposium. Along with her (virtually) was a current student, Michael Lopez Rios from her ENI 3103 course. Georgia State’s Nicole Toole placed 2nd in WBENC’s national competition as a 2021 Collegiate Women of Color Grant Winner. The WBENC’s national competition is hosted to support emerging minority female entrepreneurs with innovative companies focused in the area of STEM and sustainability.
The Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) received a generous donation from the Atlanta Hawks Foundation to present a series of workshops, a pitch competition and grants for women entrepreneurs in the City of Atlanta.
