Over 300 people connected through this large-scale virtual event. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to continue to connect and help each other grow, regardless of where they may be across the globe. Entrepreneurs, both young and old, heard from seven guest speakers who came from a variety of industries and offered their personal experiences and expert advice.
Michelle Blue, Founder of The Journey with Blue, sat down with the CEO and Founder of The Honey Pot Company, Beatrice Dixon, to host ENI’s virtual event. Blue and Dixon focused on “Breaking Boundaries” as these women discussed how to adapt to the present business climate and gave student entrepreneurs insight into developing their companies.
For the third consecutive year, a Georgia State University team has placed within the top 25 undergraduate teams at e-Fest and the Schulze Entrepreneurship Challenge. The team representing Georgia State University for the 2020 e-Fest is Ethiopay.

Pitches began early afternoon last Thursday at Georgia State Stadium for the preliminary round of Demo Day, a cumulating event for the 2020 Cohort of Main Street Entrepreneurs at Georgia State. Ten companies in the Seed Stage track and ten companies in Startup Stage track competed from the 2020 Cohort of the Main Street Entrepreneurs Seed Fund, only selecting the top five of each track to advance to finals.
On February 22nd, 22 teams representing eight universities across the state of Georgia shared the stage at Georgia State University Buckhead Center to pitch in TiE Atlanta’s TYE University Qualifying Round. This year, 34 teams applied for a chance to participate in the competition.

Geoffrey Graybeal, Ph.D. was the project lead for Georgia State University’s proposal to Affordable Learning Georgia’s Textbook Transition grant. The $29,016 awarded will provide cost savings to students in the areas of textbooks and course materials.
As Georgia State University enters into its 20th year of support from the Herman J. Russell family, the Fall 2019 Business Model Competition, hosted by the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute’s H.J. Russell Center, proved to be a special night for our student entrepreneurs.
The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) hosted their annual Atlanta Competition for the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) at Georgia State’s Buckhead campus this past Friday. Five Georgia State students pitched their businesses for a chance to compete at the U.S. National Competition in Silicon Valley, CA next February.
